Babani's Kurdish

     • Nask Nan Wa Paneer (Kurdish Bread with feta and olives) (shared) $2.95

     • Jaajic (cucumber, dill and fresh garlic in yogurt sauce)

     • Kifta Shorba (rice dough stuffed with meat in a tomato sauce) $8.75

Having never been to a Kurdish restaurant it is very difficult to know if this one is good or not. The food seemed to be a cross between Greek and Indian. They used interesting ingrediants like rice flour.

The bread which was like Indian Naan, but about an inch thick. It was served with feta, which I normally do not like that much, in an olive oil herb mixture which made it taste wonderful. The salad was like a cucumber salad my mom makes, cucumber, onion, dill and yogurt, but there seemed to be a larger proportion of yogurt to cucumber. I wasn't sure what to expect from rice flour dumplings stuffed with beef. It was served in a tomato soup that had little spice to it.

Overall it was an interesting experience. I would go back to try some of the other dishes.
