     •     Huckleberry Finn blueberry, honey, bbq 6 for $6

     •     The Canadian bourbon, brown sugar, maple syrup, sea salt 6 for $6

     •     Fries (shared) $2.75 (small)

So full disclosure, I have probably had wings once, maybe twice in my life. I have clearly never been impressed enough to order them often. In fact, I would bet I have never actually ordered them, but usually had one off someone else's plate or at happy hour or something. So perhaps I am not the best person to give an opinion on Dspot which does wings and burgers. I did order the wings because I thought when in Rome. and after taking a couple of bites I thought perhaps I have been missing out on not ordering wings all the time. They were awesome. They were meaty, the flavors I had were both sweet and mild, I was sharing with my youngest so I figured didn't' want to much heat, but neither were cloying or overly sweet just a good balance that I really enjoyed. And the fries, again not a big seasoned fry fan, but these were really good, a little savory, a little sweet with a teeny bit of heat. Yum, yum.

So will I drive across town for them, perhaps not, but if I was nearby it would be an option.

     •     Iberian chorizo, smoked paprika 6 for $6

     •     Buffalo Bill blue cheese and buffalo flavor 6 for $6

I was happily surprised with :D-Spot. We visited the Maplewood location, which is not far from 3M north of I-94. The strip mall location is very simple and a low brow in a good way: order at the counter, find your table, they bring the food out to you in baskets, and they clean up. Pop served in cans, juice boxes for the kids, and bottled water, all at reasonable prices. There's a big screen t.v. and one unisex bathroom.

All of this means that the focus is on gourmet burgers and gourmet wings, which sound like oxymorons. I was happy with the Iberian wings and really happy with the Buffalo Bill wings. The Iberian wings were a different take with pieces of chorizo that tasted like sausages. The Buffalo Bill wings had a traditional, hot but not super hot buffalo sauce, and a generous portion of blue cheese. The fries are spectacular. Some will be disappointed that there's no beer or liquor. This is a different take on a burger and wing joint, and the wings are anything but low brow.
