     •     fish & chips $10.95

So I was not expecting much, but we were on our way home from the winter carnival and thought this would be a nice casual place to try that we could go in with our snow gear, hat hair and not feel out of place. I was pleasantly surprised. The fish and chips were really very good. Now they were not as good as anchor, but they were actually pretty close. The kids food was reasonable and the kids pizza big enough for an adult or two kids at least and quite tasty as well. I will no doubt be going back.

     •     Slow Burn burger $9.95

Grumpy's does well because it gives the people what they want: basic American food in a casual dining restaurant. I enjoyed Grumpy's, but there are plenty of burger joints in the Twin Cities these days, so it's probably not worth a drive across town. The slow burn burger and fries were very good. I liked the combination of all imaginable hot stuff: jalape–o bottle caps, jalape–o bacon, pepper cheese, salsa, and chipotle mayo. The jalape–o bacon was especially memorable.

If you're in the area, it's worth a visit. If you go, they have plenty of parking in their lot. It's a large space that was hopping on the January Sunday night we visited. They have a full bar and meeting/banquet rooms that can add some extra traffic. Service was attentive, and the food was prepared and delivered quickly.
