This restaurant is located at the very busy intersection of Lake/Lyndale so as expected it was very busy on a Saturday night. Which is good, because I think overall they do Greek food pretty well. We had the stuffed mushroom entree for an appetizer which was excellent and almost made me wish I had ordered it for my entree as well. However, I didn't I ordered the Scallops instead. The scallops were a bit disappointing. They were overcooked which made them rubbery, not a huge suprise as it seems restaurants have a difficult time cooking the delicate scallop to perfection.
We decided to pass on dessert, even though they have a wonderful display of them as you walk in I have been there for lunch on a previous occaision and did happen to try their chocolate cake and it was great.

It’s Greek to Me is the last of the major well-known Greek restaurants we had to review. I’m sure there are more out there, but it may be a while before we get to another Greek restaurant.
We both really liked the stuffed mushrooms entree that the restaurant allowed us to share as an appetizer. The shrimp, scallops, spinach, and cheese blended well. The mushrooms were substantial enough to hold it together -- physically and gastronomically.
The mousaka was also well constructed. The layers of eggplant and potatoes with ground beef and cheese were quite tasty. Like the stuffed mushrooms, the mousaka was topped with a béchamel sauce. I had hoped for more seasoning on the ground beef, both the dishes were acceptable. Given the opportunity, I would order something different next time.
Of all the Greek restaurants we’ve been to, I miss Nicklow’s for the overall dining experience. For food, I would put Gardens of Salonica at the top. Christo’s and It’s Greek to Me would be next, and Santorini would follow. This is all personal preference, but hopefully somewhat accurate. (Note that Dara Moskowitz of the City Pages ranks It’s Greek to Me as best Greek restaurant in the Twin Cities.)
