Karta Thai, Yay for Karta Thai. It was a brave move opening up across from Sen Yai Sen Lek, but I think they are going to do just fine, because their food is dare I say better. I have always been a fan of Sen Yai Sen Lek, mainly because of what they are trying to do. Be involved in the community and use products that are responsible. But while their food has been good, it has never been great for me. So I am excited to see Karta Thai which is much more authentic and really good. My pineapple curry first was something to look at beautiful presentation. But more than that it was really, really good. Steve's seafood curry was really good and the both of the boys dishes were well above par as well. The only thing I was not excited about was the Thai egg roll, but that was minor. No matter what I am glad to have another good thai option in the neighborhood. I am just glad that it is a really good option.
• Seafood Curry $15
I really liked Karta Thai. The seafood curry included shrimp, mussels, and squid that were all fresh and flavorful. The portion size was generous, too. The Thai egg rolls were good. I was also impressed with the quality and taste of the kid's meals. It's refreshing that they didn't just add mac and cheese for their kid's menu. Karta Thai is not the best Thai restaurant in town, but a good option for locals or if you're in the area.
Service was good, but seemed to get overwhelmed when there was a rush. There was a significant wait in getting our bill when we were finished. Parking is available on the street on Central Avenue, which can be busy, but you can usually find a spot within a block of the restaurant if you aren't mortally afraid of parallel parking.
