Tandoor

     •     Samosa (2 piece) (shared)

     •     Garlic Naan (shared)

     •     Scallop Curry an Indian classic, scallops, cooked in a spiced curry sauce

Tandoor was surprisingly good. I am not sure why I was surprised, perhaps because I was in a strip mall in Bloomington.

They had seafood options which seems rare in Indian restaurants in the metro area. I asked for dish spiced hot and it was hot. The scallops were perfectly cooked. I preferred Steve's sauce...perhaps because it was coconut based and I love coconut curries.

If I was in the area and craving Indian food, I would stop back in.

     •     Shrimp Madras a specialty from the backwaters of south India, Tender shrimp cooked in a coconut curry sauce

I had an excellent entrée at Tandoor. The shrimp was perfect and the coconut sauce perfectly blended with the rice in this ‘backwater’ dish. The samosas were good, not great. The garlic naan was a generous portion, but also very good. This is not quite an excellent Indian restaurant, but very close. It’s good to see an Indian restaurant succeed for over 20 years in the Twin Cities.
